In honor of Black History Month, Professor Angela Shannon shares poems written about and inspired by the Civil Rights Movement by various authors. Professor Shannon provided some background information about Rosa Parks, Emmett Till, the Birmingham Bombing, and the Pullman porters while sharing the songs of Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon and reading poetry from Margaret Walker, Dudley Randall, Nikki Giovanni, Rita Dove, Jaqueline Woodson, and Lucille Clifton.
