Description

George Forbes became a Cleveland councilman in 1963 and was the first black city Council president from 1973 to 1989 when he departed council. He was president of the Cleveland NAACP from 1992 to 2011. In this photo George Forbes meets with a group gathered in the home of Mrs. Marjorie Smith, 670 East 130th. The woman at far left holds up printed piece, "Forbes urges every voter in ward 27 to stick with Stokes."
