Massachusetts Rock Against Racism

Description

Edited episode and unedited footage related to the fourth and final episode of Massachusetts Rock Against Racism's 'Living in a Rainbow World.' The episode and unedited footage include an interview between Donna West and John Peters, also known as Slow Turtle, of the Mashpee Wampanoag Native American tribe; an interview panel featuring immigrant students and adults, as well as footage from a Cape Verdean event at Madison Park High School; footage of a show choir performance at Boston City Hall featuring Washington Irving Middle School students; an excerpt from a theater arts showcase and dance performance at Washington Irving Middle School; an excerpt from a Boston Youth Theater play called 'Xax'; and establishing shots and footage used in the introductory credits for 'Living in a Rainbow World.' The date of the production is uncertain, though all four episodes of Massachusetts Rock Against Racism's 'Living in a Rainbow World' program were filmed and aired on Boston community access television in 1986. The third episode of 'Living in a Rainbow World' appears to be missing from the collection.
