Big Brothers of America

Description

This folder contains materials created/collected by the Big Brothers of America's National Study and Planning Committee. The National Study and Planning Committee, chaired by Kenneth Rogers and Joseph McCoy, surveyed local organizations to collect information about the nature of existing organizations and to plan for the structure and function of a national office to replace the Big Brother and Big Sister Federation, Inc. The national overview provides perspectives on the demographic issues facing the Big Brothers of America, including racial issues around segregation. This folder contains materials on volunteer workers, recruitment, the philosophy of Big Brother work, and the need for and functions of a national Big Brother organization.
