Hilliard, Asa G., III
Description
This video recording consists of the second part of a presentation given by Dr. Asa G. Hilliard on June 25, 1986, as part of a “Special Education Summer Institute.” In this part of the presentation, Hilliard continues the discussion of Ancient Egypt, arguing for the native African essence of that society. He explores similarities between Ancient Egyptian religion and later religions, particularly Judaism and Christianity. Hilliard then examines the history of people of African descent around the world. He closes his presentation with a consideration of African resistance to outside hostility from other ethnic groups. The presentation ends at time mark 1:28:43, and the recording ends with remarks on the presentation by two women identified as Clara Rutherford and Catherine Blackwell.
