Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript has missing pages 3 & 4 cut out in the middle.Richard Davis Webb writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to Miss [Maria Weston] Chapman exaggerating the "active hostility" of the British & foreign anti-slavery society. He blames J. Scoble, the former secretary, for his "active mischief" done by the commitee. He says the anti-slavery reporter shows L.A. Chamerovzow's influence. He discusses Miss Chapman's "keen judge of character" agrees with her remarks on Miss Stowe's being someone "hardly touched by the turmoil of the Abolition warfare." He discusses reprinting articles from the Boston Bazaar. He writes that he "feels no inclination to proclaim that [factious] fair got up by Julia Griffiths for Douglass." He says it is hard for him to get news items for the advocate. Part of page 3 & 4 are cut out.
