Description

Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.Addressed from 135 W. 41st Street.Johnson discusses certain minor changes in the wording of his review of Eli Thayer's book. He says that he sometimes feels "a little humiliated in having paid so much attention to a blatherskite [like Thayer]!" He remarks on the amount of correspondence that they have had about the business of publishing the review. He doubts if John G. Nicolay and John Hay will give any credit to William Lloyd Garrison for the part he played in anti-slavery history.
