Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.Estlin presumably forwarded this letter to Samuel May, whose handwriting on the envelope reads, "Rec'd. Sept. 11, 1849."Lupton says that his brother is going to America and would like to study the progress of the abolition cause firsthand. Lupton mentions that he would like to have Dr. Joseph Bishop Estlin and Miss Estlin come to visit him.
