Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript contains two letters. One from Sarah Allibone Speakman McKim and another from her husband, James Miller McKim on October 4th, 1853 in Liverpool, England.Sarah Allibone Speakman McKim writes to Mary Anne Estlin on June 17, 1853 thanking her and her father for taking care of her husband while he is ill during his visit to England. She hopes he will be able to "render you much assistance in the cause of suffering humanity." James Miller McKim writes to Mary Anne Estlin on October 4, 1853 in regards to antislavery meetings that he and her father attended. He gives his opinions of Russell Carpenter who "lacks soul" and of a Wesleyan Minister, who doesn't understand the anti-slavery movement, "either its history or its philosophy."
