Holograph, signed.Evelina A. S. Smith is very upset by the dissension in the anti-slavery ranks and the conduct of the leading abolitionists. She tells of a speech by Amos A. Phelps on Whig politics and the potential effect on the abolitionist vote. Evelina A. S. Smith disapproves of the abolitionists mixing in politics. She describes her home treatment of an ailment which may have been sinus trouble. George Fifield is staying with his family. She discusses Angelina Grimke Weld's opinion on the peace question.
