In this series of WSB-TV newsfilm clips from November 1972, Georgia Revenue Commissioner John A. Blackmon speaks to reporters about the ongoing investigation by the Georgia Department of Revenue into Georgia's nightclubs and their possible involvement with organized crime in the state, probably from an office in Atlanta, Georgia. Although he is not mentioned by name in the clip, the investigation was ordered by then-Georgia governor Jimmy Carter.The first clip shows Commissioner Blackmon seated at his desk. An unidentified white male reporter is seated opposite him. No audio is heard.The next clip shows an unidentified black woman reporter seated in a chair taking notes. She appears also to have a recording device on her lap.In the next clip, Blackmon sits at his desk with several microphones in front of him. He can be seen speaking but no audio is heard.The next clip shows the unidentified white male reporter seated opposite Blackmon speaking; no audio is heard.In the next clip, Blackmon sits at his desk and continues to speak. No audio is heard at first, and then Blackmon says, "And the emphasis would be placed on ensuring full disclosure.
