Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. In the top left hand corner of the spine there is the number "68" written in pencil.Asa Walker writes to Amos A. Phelps in regards to missionary meeting proceedings and his opinion of missionaries such as Professor Shepard, Mr. Warren, and Brother Houston. He asks Phelps to write to Professor George Shepard "very cautiously stir him up to the exercise of his strong powers." Walker explains that he rode with Professor Shepard to attend a council in the country and "with the simplicity of a child's truth he gave his views of what the Board could have done to have prevented the separation." He mentions his desire to obtain a copy of Phelps's Syracuse Address in pamphlet form. He discusses New Hampshire's election and newspaper politics. He also mourns the death of "our beloved [Charles Turner] Torrey."
