Caption: Picture of class room. Class room for girls similar on lower floor. Pays colored Y.M.C.A. $65 a month for the building. School . . . spent $1700 to renovate the building. At the end of this year will . . . spent 12,000 . . .on equipments, salaries, food equipments, etc., etc. Four gas ranges, electric fans, cloak rooms, 24 gas plates, 2 hot water tanks, office, model dining room, war garden in rear, the work of boys from Thomas Lefond School. Will have taught 600 women and 600 girls by June. No provision for Domestic Science for colored school girls in New Orleans. All free. Pupils only furnish cap and apron. Runs with school term but this summer will have canning classes, 100 women in each class.
