Description
Letter from Charlotte Cowles in Farmington, Connecticut, to her brother Samuel Cowles in Hartford, Connecticut. Charlotte grilled Samuel about the news that the Depository was going close. She reported on the quarterly meeting of her Female Anti-Slavery Society, where they appointed a committee to devise ways to assist the fair. Charlotte expressed concern that when Mr. Hanson, a Black Abolitionist, arrived to give a talk there would be a very small audience.
