McElderry, G. T Saturday evening post
Description
McElderry lays out his plan for a square deal for negroes: lauds Garner, attacks John L. Lewis and warns of the "danger of permitting communist to organize the negro. It means anarchy." Adds: "I lived through Reconstruction, and God knows we do not want a return of radical rule, when every man had to go armed, not knowing when he would be killed or have to kill someone else."
