Description

Nearly 40 children of varying ages and sizes pose with their teacher outside of Creekside School in Piermont. The young woman teacher, identified as Mr. Taylor's (Welfare Commission) sister, stands between two boys in the top row. The school was built of clapboard with a brick foundation. The children are arranged along a fence. One copy of the photo has some names: William King, Chauncey Berry, Edgar King, Attie Saskin (Mom's sister), Henrietta Williams, Mary Elizabeth Williams, and Charles Brown Jr. The names are written on the back and are aligned with African-American children in the photo.
