Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.Johnson mentions an attack on the Garrisonians by Asa H. Waters in 1881 and an expected attack by Leonard Woolsey Bacon in a biography of his father. He says Mrs. Villard and Wendell Phillips both praised his answer to Eli Thayer. Johnson tells May he has not yet read Leo Tolstoy's "My Religion."
