Documents related to the case of The State of Texas vs. John Wahrenberger, accused of selling spiritous liquor to a slave, filed between September 12, 1853 and May 8, 1854. Documents include a written note permitting "my black boy" to "buy Whisky whenever he wants it," a bill of indictment signed by grand jury foreman Thomas A. Washington, an appearance bond, a subpoena, and an arrest warrant.5 documents ; various sizes. Documents are handwritten in ink on paper and printed forms.
