Allan, Russell
Description
This small folder contains letters to his parents from a New York volunteer from his training site in Oxford, Ohio, and from his work site in Greenville, Mississippi, where, among other things, he describes tensions within the movement over strategy. His comments on why Greenville was more tolerant and its population more diverse than in other parts of Mississippi are interesting. A clipping from the Southampton Beach, New York, newspaper by the volunteer discusses his Freedom Summer experiences.
