DescriptionScott, Nicholas; Brown, Phillis; Sturdivant, William; Blount, Reading; Tar River Navigation Co.; Jones, Isaac;A bill prescribing the residence of the Governor of this state. (laid over) A bill to empower the court of Robeson County to lay a tax for the year 1797. A bill to emancipate Nicholas and Phillis formerly the property of William Sturdivant and Reading Blount. (rejected) A bill for improving the navigation of Tar River from Tarborough upwards as far as the same can be effected. A bill to amend, strengthen, and confirm the several acts of Assembly of this state against the emancipation of slaves. A bill to authorize Isaac Jones, late sheriff of Rowan County, to collect the assessment of the property in the town of Salisbury. A bill to encourage the cutting a navigable canal from Roanoke River or the waters thereof near the town of Plimouth to Pungo River.
