This film contains newsreel outtakes. The agency provided description is as follows: Natchez, Mississippi. Various old southern mansions. The Melrose: one of the best preserved of all Antebellum mansions. Visitiors drive up in carriage and are greeted by the lady of the house. Choctaw Mansion: Shots of the ruins of the mansion, decayed steps, broken windows and other detailed shots of ruins. Men working on new construction in front. Dun Leith Mansion: Various shots of mansion, shot thru iron gateway, owner now lives in mansion. The Briers: House and gardens have recently been restored. Mrs. Wall, the owner, guest and servant on porch. Mount Rose: Perfect example of early plantation house. Dr. Dunbar Shields, owner, walking by. Negro walking by. Ravenna Mansion: Tourists looking at mansion, Negro working in garden. Interior, coffee being served to ladies. Various shots of ruined mansion, crumbled columns covered with vines and shattered windows. The Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. under construction, built by the city on Natches. The Connelly's Tavern, on Ellicott's Hill. Built during the Spanish Regime in 1795 and now has been restored by the Natches Garden Club.
