Mooney, Jim

Description

Black and white photograph of two police officers talking to an African American man during the Chattanooga sit-ins of February 1960. This photo was taken on Wednesday, the fourth and most intense day of protests. Instead of purely student participation, many adults participated as well. This is one of many photos from that day of police making arrests. The officer in the left of the photograph wrote on a pad of paper. The officer in the middle held a gun, as an arrow edited into the photograph points out. The name "Mooney" is written on the back.
