A hand-colored ninth-plate ambrotype of a young girl, identified by a note attached to the case as, "White Slave Girl that played in the camps of the Army of the Potomac; evidently a scion of one of the F.F.V. [First Families of Virginia]" The photograph was taken ca. 1861-1865 by an unknown photographer. From the Ambrotype collection Photo. 2.129
