Wheeler, Marilee Citywide Coordinating Council (Boston, Mass.)
Description
Citywide Coordinating Council daily monitoring report for Hyde Park High School by Marilee Wheeler. Wheeler comments on a situation in which the mother of a black student complained to Headmaster John Best that there were no black students on the cheerleading squad. Enclosed is a letter, written by Headmaster Best, to the Parents' Bi-racial Council, mentioning that four black students will be added to the squad. Wheeler notes that many of these promises were never delivered and details the tensions between white and black students during try-outs and subsequent practices.
