Description

In this WSB newsfilm clip from the late 1950s, Richard B. Russell, U.S. senator from Georgia from 1933 to 1971, speaks from the well of the Georgia House in the late 1950s against legislation for "special rights." He begins by asserting that he believe every American should have the rights afforded to them under the United States Constitution. He then states that no group is entitled to "legislation establishing special rights that will prevail over the rights of all our people."
