Description

Holograph, signed.Mary Merrick Brooks will be at the (Boston) anti-slavery fair one or two days. She tells about the calamity that befell Cyrus Hubbard Jarvis, the brother of Louisa Jarvis, when powder used in blasting rocks exploded and stones were blown into his eyes and made him blind. Mary M. Brooks praises Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman as the "mastermind" and recalls that "she always kept her labors concealed as much as possible."
