Wilma Rudolph, hailed as the "Lady of Gold" and "La Gazelle Noire," was the first woman to win three gold medals in a single Olympiad. In 1960, she won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, and the 400-meter relay in Rome, Italy.
