Description
Holograph, signed with initials.Maria W. Chapman mentions a mob which tore up the telegraph "posts" between New York and Bedford. She thinks that Mayor Fernando Wood can set things right. She gives some family news about Mary Gray Chapman(?) and Henry [G. Chapman, Jr.]. She mentions the sabotage of the railroads and William Jay's letters from the army.
