Goings, John

Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.John Gorings writes to Samuel May reporting that they "had a very interesting meeting here on Sunday last and [a] very crowded house all day," however "a great many were disappointed in not hearing Miss [Sallie] Holley speak." Goings ask May if Holley could speak again in New Bedford on her return from Nantucket, arguing "we think that she might do much good if she can." He requests that May respond immediately so that they can make arrangements for the lecture. Goings signs the letter, "John Goings, and other in Behalf of the Anti Slavery Society."
