Description
Photograph taken about 1936 of the front of slave quarters at the Northampton plantation located near Largo, Prince George's County, Maryland. This building is an early 19th century one-and-one-half-story frame dwelling on a stone foundation, with walls covered with board and batten siding and a gable roof covered with wood shingles. (Editor's note: This photograph in the Wilfong Collection may be from the Library of Congress Historic American Buildings Survey and may have been photographed in 1936 by John O. Brostrup. When compared, the two photographs (Wilfong's and Brostrup's) appear to be identical, thus the date of Wilfong's photograph of circa 1936 and the Coverage (Time Period) of 1931-1940.)
