Description

On behalf of the NAACP, Walter White says he is glad Selznick is taking care "to avoid the pitfalls which are so liekly in making a picture from a novel with as many false emphases as "Gone With the Wind." Colored and white Americans are apprehensive about the effect the picture will have and White suggests employing "in an advisory capacity, a person, preferably a Negro, who is qualified to check on possible errors of fact of interpretation." Recommends Selznick read Du Bois's "Black Reconstruction."
