The first part of an interview with Frances Landt Lewis. Her discussion of her ancestors begins with her grandfathers who were the first to break ground in the town of Newport. Lewis' grandfather Socrates was forced to join the Confederate Army in the American Civil War, he then deserted and joined the Union Army. She also discusses other members of her family.
