Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript contains purple postmarked stamp "Garrison Mss."William Francis Channing writes to Theodore Parker in regards to the South's decision to "exclude Massachusetts manufacturers & to cease to trade with Boston, unless the fugitive law is enforced." He warns that a powerful influence will be "brought to bear against us here at home." He writes of the Vigilance Committee cannot act in another case in the same way as they did in the last, says Channing. He says a plan must be arranged and preparations made before another case comes up and discusses his proposals for such a plan.
