Fisher writes in response to the letter concerning the "young white man who has fallen in love with an intelligent young colored woman," and notes that he agrees with Du Bois' editorial response; states "in this American Republic the time is not ripe for inter-marriage between the races, and we join you in saying that in face of conditions, no happiness or success would come." Typed on the letterhead of the St. John A. M. E. Zion Church.
