Description

Holograph, signedAt the top of page one, the letter is marked "Supplement," apparently a supplement to a letter. Amos Farnsworth discusses local politics. He writes: "Third Party will throw a large vote in some of the districts. You see that the Whigs have adopted [James Caleb?] Jackson as their candidate, & [John Greenleaf] Whittier will get many votes more on account of the unpopularity of the Whig & Demo candidates." Farnsworth believes that thousands do not expect anything to be accomplished except through the ballot box. Amos Farnsworth and his daughter Mary may spend the winter in Boston
