Description

This folder contains SNCC press releases on threats and intimidation of blacks and civil rights workers; an excellent pamphlet on all aspects of the Freedom Summer project as well as SNCC and Delta Ministry pamphlets on 1965 and 1966 civil rights projects; and very interesting early (1961-1963) background materials on SNCC plans for voter registration drives. There are also a list of SNCC staff members in Mississippi; fact sheets on specific places in Mississippi; 1965 pamphlets on agricultural cooperatives in Mississippi; a pamphlet on 1963 racial violence in Danville, Virginia; a 1963-1964 report on "The Selma [Alabama] Literacy Project," and the ubiquitous document, "The General Condition of the Mississippi Negro." The September 15, 1963, letter from Bob Moses outlines his hopes and motivations for Freedom Summer in a very frank way.
