Description

"Woodland, 1907. Work Extra #1602 (train name) A.B. & A. Railroad. Ledgerwood is the Engine name (Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic R.R.) Note cars dumping dirt around tressel, dirt came from a large steam shovel. R.R. tressel is 96 ft. high built with pine poles with bark on them. The culvert is 21 ft. from the water to the top of circle crown, the crew worked 3 months filling with dirt. The tressel is several hundred feet long. Only a short portion is shown in the photo. Tressel is 3 miles East of Manchester, Ga. People in photo: Left to Right: E.J. Flowers (telegraph operator & conductor), L.L. Lee (flagman), L.C. Giles (Foreman), W.H.
