Description

This folder includes advertisement, program, registration form, list of West Coast chapters of Friends of SNCC, and detailed minutes from SNCC's wide-ranging West Coast Regional conference workshops held in November 1964. It also includes song lyrics of the civil rights movement (including "The Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee Song"), and many articles from national magazines and from SNCC publications on SNCC activities in the South. The SNCC publication, "Genocide in Mississippi," having to do with the criminalization of illegitimate births, is another item here, as is "Bases for Federal Intervention in the South," a December 1964 newsletter from the East Bay Friends of SNCC, a flyer about a Washington, D.C., bus boycott, and some documents relating to the free speech movement at the University of California-Berkeley.
