This issue of Mosaic is designed to be an educational tool focused on teaching writing techniques to high school students based on close readings of Mosaic narratives. Techniques outlined in this issue include clustering, double journal entry, reading aloud, grammar, and the use of photographs. Focused assignments and lesson plans are based on the Mosaic Spring 1984 anthology issue. This issue includes a forword by Barbara Smith, one of the founders of Kitchen Table/Women of Color Press.
