Pamphlet of the story of "Tent City," Fayette County, Tennessee, circa 1960. This pamphlet is the result of an investigation by Ralph Helstein, president of the United Packinghouse, Food and Allied Workers, into racial struggle and injustice in Fayette County, Tennessee. Tent City is the story of several hundred African American families, sharecroppers, tenant farmers and day workers who were driven from their homes and faced eviction in the dead of winter in Fayette County, Tennessee, because they exercised their American right to register and vote.
