Description

Holograph, signed with initials.William Lloyd Garrison writes: "Accept my thanks for your suggestion as to topics to write upon." The weather has been very cold and Garrison has been feeling "worn out." He was deterred from going to New York to a meeting of the American Freedmen's Aid Commission by a severe snow storm. He lectured in New Bedford to a large audience. He will attend the anniversary meeting of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society and will advocate for the dissolution of the society. He heard that Wendell Phillips will not oppose the dissolution since he finds the American Anti-Slavery Society "as heavy a load as can be borne."
