From Dr. Lederer's text: Lieutenant Albon Foster, principal of Lincoln School in Springfield, Missouri, under whose leadership Lincoln became an accredited high school, officer in World War I., for many years head of the Chicago Urban League. His nephew later lived in the old homeplace.
