Description

Resolutions passed by the General Assembly stating that Congress did not have the power to admit new states and that Connecticut did not want slavery to move into the territories. The General Assembly also castigates Senator John Niles and the state's representatives to the House for voting in favor of Texas against the wishes of their constituents. The citizens of Connecticut took notice and voted all of them out of office.
