Description

The work is an ink drawing oriented in the portrait view, done in black and white with additions of marker in a range of grays. The composition is framed by a arch and contains three central figures. The main figure, who is located in the foreground of the piece, is a woman who holds a staff with a spiral at its top end. The woman has an ovular face, delineated in a sketch-like, semi-abstract style. Her hair is not visible, cloaked in a white habit, and she wears a long-sleeve, floor-length gown, though her her feet peak out from beneath its hem. To the left and right of the woman, slightly further back, are two figures. Their faces and bodies are abstracted and they are each standing on a small pedestal adorned with an image of a rodent type creature . The two figures are dressed in robes and have their arms up in a position of offering. The figure on the left carries four, thin forms resembling stems of wheat, while the right figure holds a white orb. Above each figure and attached to the respective columns behind them, is an abstracted bird figure.
