Poet, journalist, and 1985 IWP resident Wayne Brown discusses his writing and the contemporary West Indian literary scene. Brown goes on to talk about his biography of Edna Manley, artist and mother of former Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley. He also discusses his career as a columnist for Trinidadian newspapers, and reads a column entitled "Coming Home". Peter Nazareth, a native of Uganda, is a Professor of English and African-American World Studies at the University of Iowa. Since 1974, he has been advisor to the University's International Writing Program, which brings writers from around the world to the University of Iowa for semester-long residencies. Over the span of more than thirty years, Nazareth has recorded interviews, seminars, and panel discussions with IWP writers conducted in various settings, including "Humanities at Iowa", a 1980s radio show that aired on WSUI/KSUI.
