Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Legacy catalog card identifies the place of publication of this manuscript as "Boston".Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. Along the head edge of the first page, "Boston, Feb. 19, 1865. G.T." is written in pencil and above the salutation the number "40" is also written in pencil. Under the last line of the first page, "V34,P26B" is also written in pencil.George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison reporting that he is "now suffering a good deal - yet have a journey to Montreal before me wh[ich] must be accomplihsed tomorrow." He tells Garrison that he has not been able to complete his speech, due to his illness, and so he cannot give it to him to publish in the Liberator. He then asks about Garrison's last meetng at Newburyport and says he plans to travel to "Quebec Toronto and one or two other places in Canada before I return to Boston."
