This designator is written in May's hand, and is crossed out.Samuel May, Jr. writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that he has received the "parcel of photography" sent to him by Garrison, and states his pleasure at having received the photographs, especially those of the city of Boston, declaring that two of the streets depicted therein were very familiar to him in his youth, and that they "bring up the very part of Boston which, more than any other, was the Boston of [May's] boyhood". May states that the photographs have hit him in "a very vulnerable spot", and thanks Garrison for their gift. May informs Garrison that Mr. Wallcut will be spending that Sunday at May's home. May closes in informing Garrison that the photograph of Franklin Street contains the house in which his father had lived for some years.
