E. Timothy Moore was an undergraduate student at Kent State University in 1970, and, at the time of this interview, was Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kent State. He provides a broad, detailed overview of the events of May 4, 1970, and the University Administration's response during the forty years following the shootings. He discusses the events from an African-American perspective as well as the official view of BUS (Black United Students). Moore had served as BUS's Minister of Art and later as its President. He also discusses his thoughts about the Gym Annex controversy and the memorial design competition.
