Description
San Antonio Female College was founded by Dr. John E. Harrison, Sr., in 1894 in the Woodlawn area of San Antonio. The Methodist college changed its name to Westmoorland College in 1918, and then to University of San Antonio in 1937. The Methodist Church cut ties with the school in 1942, and Trinity University took over the campus facilities and "adopted" all of the students and alumni.
