Volume containing copies of records maintained by Ebenezer Storer, Jr., dated 1763-1788, related to administration of the estate of his father Ebenezer Storer, Sr. (1699-1761), and the late company of Ebenezer Storer & Son. Included is a complete inventory of the firm, which mainly traded in textiles, in addition to legal correspondence and memoranda. It also contains a copy of the will of Storer, Sr., and an account of the controversy surrounding the estate, which could not be settled until the death of his widow, Mary Storer, in 1771. An inventory of the estate lists a number of dwelling houses, several meeting house pews, and two people enslaved by Storer, a girl named Cloe, and a deceased boy named Bacchus. He left Mary Storer 400 pounds and the use of their mansion house on Union Street, in addition to an enslaved man named London. After his death, her children also allowed her the horse and carriage and two more slaves.Ebenezer Storer & Son Records. The company sold mainly textiles out of a Boston warehouse. Ebenezer Storer, Jr. (1730-1807; Harvard AB 1747) was the executor of his father's estate and was in charge of settling their late firm's accounts.
